Canada 150 & Eid El Fitr Celebration
The Arab Community Centre combined the Canada 150 Celebrations with Eid-Ul-Fitr to create a very inclusive and communal setting for members of the Muslim community as well as neighbouring communities. Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrates the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting and is an event that is supposed to bring together the community and create valuable connections. We celebrated life in Canada and the freedom of religious expression together as a community and large family, thus eliminating any negativity towards Muslims and opening the door of opportunity. Eid-Ul-Fitr is also about being grateful for your spiritual, physical, emotional and mental wellbeing as well as tangible possessions. With this in mind, being thankful and celebrating the prosperity in Canada was the best to show gratitude.
