Position Summary

ACCT is looking for a part-time skilled talent who thrive in a flexible and innovative environment. The position of Job Developer is responsible for the development and maintenance of placement opportunities for clients who face multiple barriers to full-time employment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an employer network and pursue job leads to increase employment outcomes for program clients
  • Conduct outreach to the employer community and meet with the employer to ensure their suitability and compliance to the employment program framework.
  • Work with clients to review their employment action plans; provide one-to-one and group career exploration sessions and relevant labor market information; provide clients with ongoing opportunities to make informed choices regarding goals, objectives, and services related to potential jobs
  • Market job seekers to employers based on their interest and career goals ensuring adequate support to facilitate clients’ placement.
  • Assist employers in training clients and provide on the job coaching; monitor placements to ensure that clients are learning appropriate work habits and transferable skills
  • Update/compile the list of employers partnership and the narrative report quarterly
  • Achieve the targeted number of placements / employment as set out by the program requirements
  • Draft, sign and maintain job placements agreements
  • Facilitate thorough performance appraisals with the employer and program clients on a regular basis.
  • Provide feedback in order to identify key issues or problems and to recognize the strengths of each clients and identify methods for further skills development.
  • Update placement/employment outcomes report in a timely manner.
  • Report clients information records for each cohort
  • Ensure employers submit clients’s timesheets on time and maintain records for payroll processing
  • Perform other duties when required

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related major). A major in Career Studies is an asset.
  • Experience working with disengaged clients with multi-barriers using different methods including group facilitation, meditation, and/or conflict resolution techniques.
  • Experience using a variety of marketing strategies to successfully connect job seekers with employers.
  • Demonstrated track record in negotiating with employers and building successful partnerships which benefit job seekers.
  • Up to date and knowledgeable on current labor market trends and opportunities, particularly in the GTA.
  • Excellent knowledge of social media and online tools to promote services to various stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-person and online facilitation experience and ability to navigate virtual facilitation platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience working in a Microsoft 365; familiarity with digital platforms and database management programs.
  • Possess and maintain a clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Must have a car for business travel

Working Conditions

  • The successful candidate may be required to work from multiple ACCT locations and community sites.
