The Toronto Youth Job Corps (TYJC) program assists youth 15 – 30 years of age to find employment. We will help you get the training, education or experience needed to get hired

ACCT IS LAUNCHING A NEW YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM

TYJC is a full-time, paid employment preparation program for youth, especially those who are facing a difficult life situation or having a hard time getting a job.

TYJC will help youth become more employment ready through:

  • Employment readiness activities
  • Training modules to develop employability and job skills
  • Soft skills enhancement
  • Job search assistance
  • Group and one-to-one job coaching
  • Supervised work experience through community-based work projects; and
  • Work experience opportunities with a network of vetted employers

Participant Eligibility

Prior to joining the TYJC program youth must be:

Between 15 and 30 years of age

Resident of the City of Toronto

A Canadian citizen, or permanent resident or a protected person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

TYJC is coordinated by the City of Toronto’s Social Development, Finance, and Administration Division in partnership with Service Canada
