Josoor Project Conference: “Bridging Digital Inclusion and Unveiling New Approaches.”
The Josoor Project Conference took place in Toronto on Thursday, November 30th in collaboration with other similar Service Delivery Improvement projects: Empowering Newcomers to Succeed (NorQuest College), and WESO Evaluation Toolkit Project (YMCA) that aim at enhancing remote/hybrid services in general; and, Virtual Bridges Project (CERC – Toronto Metropolitan University), and Engage 3D-Language Training Program (Syrian Canadian Foundation) that focus on specific matters critical for newcomers and refugee women.
The conference provided a valuable platform to discuss and report on our project’s efforts in bridging digital inclusion. We explored new approaches, shared best practices, and discussed our vision for digital inclusion, aligning with the objectives of each SDI project’s objectives.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the speakers, panelists, and participants who joined us in person from across the GTA, Ottawa, Quebec as well as virtually from Edmonton and Vancouver. Your presence and contributions were greatly appreciated.
We would also like to give special recognition to Marco Campana for his expceptional moderation of the discussion and Q & A session, providing enlightening insights. Special thanks as well to artist Patricia Kambitsch for her incredible artwork which beautifully captured the ideas and outputs of the conference.
The Arab Community Centre of Toronto would like to express its gratitude to Josoor project team, ACCT staff, research partners, digital literacy program partners, Advisory Committee, Steering Committee, and Design Committee for their invaluable contribution and support.
Lastly, we would to extend our thanks to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for funding the Josoor Project and supporting its critical objective of ‘Bridging Digital Inclusion’ for vulnerable newcomer and refugee women in Canada.
